PYTHAGORAS THEOREM


  • Pythagoras theorem: In a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides, i.e. if a, b and c are the base, height and hypotenuse respectively, of a triangle then a^2 + b^2 = c^2.
  • Pythagoras was ancient Greek philosopher who has credit of this theorem.
  • Pythagorean triplet: If three natural numbers a, b and c are related as a^2 + b^2 = c^2, then a, b and c are called pythagorean triplet.
